Paul van Dyk is the stage name of German DJ, record producer and musician Matthias Paul.

He is recognized as one of the earliest people to have gained repute as a DJ. He played his first gig as a DJ in 1991 and by the early 2000s, he had garnered international recognition through his remixes, trance and electronic dance albums.

His best-known songs include “For An Angel” and a remix of the Humate song, “Love Stimulation”.

Family Life

At the age of four, he and his mother were abandoned by his father. He was raised in East Berlin, Germany.

He has been married two times.

His first wife was Natascha Van Dyk. They divorced in 2012. In 2017, he married Margarita Morello.

Achievements

He has been a recipient of a Grammy Award and other award schemes such as the Trance Awards, Mixmag Awards, International Dance Music Awards and the DJ Awards.

Trivia

He used to own a record label, VANDIT Records, which merged with Armada Music in 2010.
